On an Oktoberfest trip to Germany with family and friends, owner and founder, Michael Benedict, discovered the popular German ice cream sundae called “Spaghettieis,” a delicious noodle shaped ice cream formed to resemble spaghetti and sauce. Upon returning to the States, Michael found this wildly-popular European dessert was unavailable in the area. His family’s longing for the perfect combination of spaghetti and gelato, and his dissatisfaction with its availability, inspired him to create a local version. Within months, “Spagato”– Italian for “dissatisfied,” was born.
